January 17 Workshop - Defending America's Place in Space: Future Threats and Rules
On January 17, NPEC and the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Law and National Security co-sponsored a day-long workshop, "Defending America's Place in Space: Future Threats and Rules." The workshop featured a number of discussants who gave short talks in order to kickstart longer discussions: Robert Latiff, Former Director of Advanced Systems and Technology, National Reconaissance Office; Brian Chow, Former Senior Physical Scientist, RAND Corporation; Melissa de Zwart, Professor and Dean of Law, Adelaide School; Jack Beard, Professor of Law, University of Nebraska College of Law; Jamie Morin, Vice President of Defense Systems Operations, Aerospace Corporation; and Pete Worden, Chairman, Breakthrough Prize Foundation.
