NPEC's Greg Jones' Take on Latest IAEA Safeguards Update on Iran
On September 2, 2011, the IAEA released a safeguards update showing that Western efforts to impede Iran's centrifuge enrichment program continue to be ineffective. Iran has maintained its production of 3.5% enriched uranium at a rate of about 100 kilograms per month and has significantly increased its production of 19.7% enriched uranium to 3.2 kilograms per month.
