On Monday, February 10th, NPEC co-hosted a panel discussion with University of Utah’s MIAGE Program on the future of nuclear energy in Utah. Speakers included Ken Maize, editor and publisher of The Quad Report; Dr. Scott Kemp, Associate MIT Professor of Nuclear Science; Dr. Scott Williams, Former Executive Director of the Healthy Environment Alliance of Utah (HEAL); and Tim Kowalchik, Emerging Technology Strategist at the Utah Office of Energy Development. Henry Sokolski, the Nonproliferation Policy Education Center’s executive director, served as moderator.
How Nuclear Might Utah’s Future Be? (NPEC-MIAGE)
Presentations and discussions covered a number of questions, including: What might the economic, environmental, and security benefits and risks of promoting small modular reactor construction in Utah be?
